In a recent interview, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, entrepreneur and Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor’s sister, voiced her concerns about her daughter Samara’s social media activity. Riddhima shared, “At times it worries me because she is quite active on social media, posting pictures and videos almost every day,” in a conversation with UK-based radio jockey Anushka Arora.
Riddhima advised Samara to set her Instagram account to private to avoid the negativity and trolling that often accompany public profiles. However, Samara is reluctant, fearing it would reduce her follower count. Riddhima noted, “I told her she needs to go private or get off social media, but she says if she goes private, she won’t get followers!”
She also mentioned, “I try very hard to discipline her, but my husband spoils her! I do everything I can to instill some discipline, though it is a different generation.”
Last year, Riddhima shared a heartfelt Instagram post for Samara’s 12th birthday, featuring a video of their cherished memories. She wrote, “Happy birthday my darling Sam! As you enter a new age, I hope all your wishes and dreams come true. You deserve all the love and happiness because you are the most amazing daughter! I am so proud of you and the person you are becoming! Love you to the square of infinity my babygirl.”
Riddhima met Bharat during her studies in London, and they tied the knot in 2006, four years after they started dating.
