Pixar Excites Fans with ‘Incredibles 3’ Announcement and ‘Toy Story 5’ Tease at D23

Pixar made a big splash at the D23 Fan Expo on Friday with the announcement of “Incredibles 3.” The revelation was made by Pixar’s chief creative officer, Pete Docter, in front of an enthusiastic crowd of 12,000 fans—the largest audience ever gathered at the Disney fan convention.

Docter teased the audience at the end of his presentation by hinting at upcoming “Incredibles” projects before confirming, “That’s right, we’re making ‘Incredibles 3.'”

He also shared that Brad Bird, the acclaimed writer and director of the first two “Incredibles” films, is on board to develop the third installment. While no further details or a release date were provided, the D23 crowd erupted with excitement over the news.

This summer, “Inside Out 2” became Pixar’s highest-grossing film ever, surpassing “Incredibles 2.” It also beat Disney Animation’s “Frozen II” to become the highest-grossing animated film of all time.

Following the success of “Inside Out 2,” Docter introduced a new animated film called “Hoppers.” The movie is about a girl named Mabel, voiced by Pipe Curder, whose spirit is transferred into the body of a beaver through groundbreaking technology.
