Charli XCX is the first British artist to reach No. 1 on the U.K. singles chart this year.
Charli XCX has returned to the top of the U.K. singles chart with her new song “Guess,” which features Billie Eilish. This track has propelled Charli to her first No. 1 hit as a main artist since her 2013 collaboration with Icona Pop on “I Love It.”
While her latest album, “Brat,” is currently at No. 2 on the Official Albums Chart, “Guess” has achieved the top spot on the singles chart. This makes Charli the first British artist to reach No. 1 on the U.K. chart this year, as American and one Irish artist (Hozier) have mostly dominated the chart. Sabrina Carpenter was the previous No. 1 holder. Throughout the year, the U.K. chart has closely mirrored the U.S. chart, with previous No. 1 hits including songs by Beyoncé, Noah Kahan, Benson Boone, and Taylor Swift featuring Post Malone.
