“Big Dawg” featuring Kalmi is a big hit that’s making waves in both pop and hip-hop around the world.
Ever thought about a rapper from Kerala making an awesome music video with nostalgic fairground scenes and daring car stunts? HanuMankind’s “Big Dawg” does exactly that. The video has over 17 million views on YouTube and is ranked 43 on global music charts.
Even though he’s from India, HanuMankind’s accent might make you think he’s American. The song’s notes say, “Pushing culture baby, got that product you can’t measure.”
HanuMankind, whose real name is Sooraj Cherukat, is taking the global music scene by storm with “Big Dawg” featuring Kalmi. He grew up in Texas and mixed Texan sounds with Indian influences in this song. The video was filmed in Kerala’s Ponnani district and blends local and international styles.
The fast-paced music and catchy lyrics, combined with the video’s gritty, energetic vibe, make it stand out. Sooraj, now living in Bangalore, joked that even if the video didn’t make it big, he’d have an exciting story about the dangerous stunts. “If you want something, take the risk. Even if it doesn’t work out, at least you tried,” he said.
The video was directed by Bijoy Shetty and produced by Kalmi of Brown Crew Productions, featuring impressive stunts by Sulthan Sheikh and his team. If you haven’t seen it yet, give it a watch!
